PRINCESS KUKACHIN
[CAPTAIN NEMO x {(APPLE TART x ELEGANT FINALE) x (TECHNY PEACH LACE x Tet SCORPIO)}]
38” x 7”, Tet, Late, Dor. 3-4 way branching 20+ buds.
PRINCESS KUKACHIN is a beautiful light lavender flower with an “airy” delicate quality about it. A pale, nearly white, ruffle surrounds the edges of the petals of the ample blossoms which present themselves well on very sturdy scapes.
PRINCESS KUKACHIN blooms late in my garden and to see its perky presence floating like a butterfly is a very pleasant way to end the season.
Although it is not consistent enough to be registered as an Unusual Form, it often blooms as a Pinched Crispate.
PRINCESS KUKACHIN was the name of the daughter of Kublai Kahn the great Mongol ruler who unified China and was visited by Marco Polo in the early 13th Century. Possibly not so important in world history, it was also the name of one of our cats. So, this daylily is not named after Kublai Kahn’s daughter, but is named after a cat that was named after Kublai Kahn’s daughter. Just thought you should know.
Pod and Pollen fertile.
