NINE INCH NAILS is a real "pants wetter"! The combination of color and form is truly exciting.
The dark burgundy color contrasted with the extended chartreuse throat is electrifying. Plus the form is so wide open and narrow that NINE INCH NAILS seems as if it must meet the spider ratio.
In fact I have had it bloom in a ratio of 6/1 many times, but often the wide part of the petal near the throat moves it down below the 4/1 ratio.
Nevertheless, the consistent knife edge pinching on the very narrow petals makes it a winner.
NINE INCH NAILS is a superb addition to any garden, but it is especially appropriate for those of us who savor the subtle virtues of Unusual Forms.
Great pollen parent, although I have yet to set on it.
