Scarbrough’s Garden is located on the fall line in middle Georgia where we have long hot summers. We have large beds in various shapes and smaller round beds that give a closer look at the blooms.  Our large beds have small paths through them so that you can walk close enough to look the blooms in the face.  Our seedlings grow in raised beds that provide them a place to get a good start.  We continue to add new cultivars that give a large variety of colors and types.  This year we have our largest number of new introductions from different hybridizers ranging from miniatures, to large flowers, doubles, spiders and unusual forms. Our MACON SUNSET was a beauty this year in her round bed radiating an orange glow facing the western sunset.

Our new introductions this year are BIG BANG BOOM and MACON GOLD.  BIG BANG BOOM is a lemon chiffon unusual form and MACON GOLD blooms constantly. There is no end to the creativity in the reproduction of the plants.  It is amazing to see the variations of color and form in the spring.

We share our garden with many visitors, garden clubs senior citizens groups and bus tours. A story league enjoys a picnic and storytelling at the garden annually.  Visitors like to drink lemonade and share garden stories.

Since we have a good amount of shade in the garden we continue to add shade plants.  We have a large variety of hostas and hydrangeas.  When we see new varieties of them we can’t resist getting them.  We have about fifty different varieties of hydrangeas.  Sam likes to root cuttings from the new varieties as they root fairly easy.  The problem is finding space for them to grow but we think there is always room for one more plant.  The hostas and hydrangeas make a lovely background for our daylilies.

Our garden is state inspected and is a display garden for the American Hemerocallis Society and the Middle Georgia Hemerocallis Society.  We show flowers in the local and regional flower shows as well as speak to Garden clubs and Hemerocallis Societies.

Our plants are dug and shipped the same day.  We maintain a regular spraying program and all our out going plants are treated for disease according to the latest UGA procedures.  We include a gift plant equal to 20% of each order.  The minimum order is $25.00 plus shipping.  We ship priority mail @ $8.00 plus $.50 per plant, or by ground UPS @ $12.00 plus $.50 per plant.  We have gotten excellent service through priority mail.  All plants shipped will be double fans and more.  We do not ship out of the USA.

We are easily accessible from hwy I-475 or 75.  We are open for visitors on Tuesday through Saturday.  The daylilies stay in bloom from early spring to early fall with the peak being the last week in May until the first week in June.  Please give us a call before you come.  Catalogues are available upon request.  We look forward to seeing you in the garden this year.
