AUNT VEE
(Barnes, Cl. 2009)

#B06-LBBEG-1  (Lavender Blue Baby X Evelyn Gates) 21” scapes, Early Midseason, Dormant, Diploid.  4 ¾” flowers of a dark rosy lavender with a chalky lavender watermark and lighter midribs above a yellow-green throat.  Very round and ruffled with good substance.  This is the first introduction of several from this very productive cross.  Very beautiful!  2-way branching with 14 buds.  A good grower and increaser, but only makes medium-sized fans.  Named for a very special lady, my Great-Aunt Vee, who will celebrate her 99th birthday in December.  Pod fertile, but not easy.  Registration has been submitted, and name is pending approval from the AHS.

LITTLE MISS CHARLA
(Barnes, Cl. 2009)

#B06-SEJCBP-1  (Siloam Elfin Jewel X Crystal Blue Persuasion)  16” scapes, Early, Dormant, Diploid.  Tiny 2 ¾” blooms are an almond blend with an enormous eyezone of bright violet blue outlined in magenta with a green throat.  The flower recurves and the eye is so large that oftentimes the base color is hardly noticeable.  2 to 3 way branching with 10 to 12 buds.  I wish the budcount were higher, but in every year that it has been grown, it immediately sends up rebloom scapes.  Therefore its bloom season is still quite adequate.  A cute, jewel of a flower named for my niece, who is certainly a jewel herself!  Pod fertile.  Registration has been submitted, and name is pending approval from the AHS.
