BITE THE BULLET    $10 df

Lovett, D. 2003 30” Sev M Dip 7” Re Yellow self Spi.

(Cheaspeake Crab Legs x Savannah Banana Split)

This is my first introduction and my personal favorite at that time of anything I had hybridized. I love the pure yellow shade with the lighter edge tone on the long and twisting petals. They give wonderful motion in the garden as they bounce up and down and float in gentle breezes. This flower likes hot weather, with the petals getting longer and narrower as the bloom season progresses. It is especially outstanding on rebloom. Another nice trait is it's consistency. Each bloom has the same appearance.

The twisting, curling, lightly ruffled petals hang down and give the bloom an appearance of depth. Scape height is 30" initially and taller on rebloom, over 40". Ratio is 4.6:1, petal length is 6.0" and bloom diameter is 7”. Bud count is 12. It multiplies rapidly and gives an abundance of scapes which helps offset bud count on the low side. Difficult pod parent but pollen is easy.

BITE THE BULLET has given me some wonderfull offspring.
