Dan & Jackie Lovett's Daylily Garden

PLEASE HELP US EVALUATE THESE SEEDLINGS VIA THE INTERNET!!

Most of these selected seedlings are first time bloomers and the plants are not mature enough yet to evaluate their garden habit and performance, so we are only evaluating the blooms at this point. We need others input and ask you to help us. Please choose your favorite bloom; one each from Dan and Jackie. Just click on the e-mail link provided and fill in the number of your favorite. We appreciate any comments that you have about them, too. As incentive, we will hold all e-mails and conduct a drawing before next bloom season. The winner will receive a free recent introduction. How about it! Come on......... give it a try. We value your opinion.

When you begin to seriously consider introducing a daylily, it is at first a humbling - almost frightening thought...........to display to the daylily world a plant that you consider worthy to bear your name as the hybridizer. Even more, you’re asking people to buy it from you! Will they laugh or scoff at your hybridizing effort, or will they be complimentary and accepting?Quickly you realize that there is much more to introduction than just hybridizing the flower. Without a recognizable name or established reputation, how do you get started with a new introduction? How do you get the public aware of your flowers? A practical consideration is how do you accomplish it logistically? How many different introductions should you attempt at one time? How many fans will you need available for sale?

We are excited to introduce new daylilies from our own hybridizing efforts. One point is very clear......good evaluation of seedlings is most important and shouldn’t be done in a vacuum. We need broad input and the more the better. So thanks for you’re input.........we value it highly!
