AEGEAN SEA
Tetraploid 6” bloom, 36” scape, 3 and 4 br,. 22 buds SEV
(On To Something X Sdlg) X Tet Lavender Blue Baby
Here’s a pale white with a big pale blue eyezone for the back of
your display garden. Tall, at 36 to 38 inches, and very fertile, she
was loaded with pods last season. I have no idea where the height
came from, as the pod parent grew very low. It is a stunning example
of being unable to predict daylily genes in advance. AEGEAN SEA is
quite a sight, nevertheless. Great arching foliage, dark green in color,
and a lovely bloom that has a pale pink caste very early in the morning.
The pale lilac-blue eyezone is wonderful and quite delicate in nature,
making the overall effect quite lovely. I hope you are as infatuated with
AEGEAN SEA as much as I have been. She was named for the clear blue
colors of the sea, found off the coast of Greece. Somewhat Limited supply.

BLUE SPINNAKER
Tetraploid 24” 5.25” Bloom, 3Br, 22 buds, SE, Repeats
(White sdlg-417 X Lanny Morry)X (Sdlg X Ed Brown)
When this one first bloomed, I could only think of those huge spinnakers
on the racing sloops in Newport Harbor. Somehow, the image persisted,
and now I have a daylily to remind me of those Summer afternoons.
Imbued with hints of lilac pink and a softly colored eyezone in a slightly deeper shade, this sweet tetraploid is a charmer. Softly ruffled, and sporting a huge green throat, BLUE SPINNAKER will steal your heart. Fertile both ways, lovely green foliage, she sends up a second set of scapes in June.
It inherited the subtle eyezone from it’s grandmother; Tet Lavender Blue Baby. We love this one, and a few of her siblings to come in the days ahead.
Garden visitors spotted this one right away, and took lots of photos.
I have limited stock-(just can’t wait to share her.)

HAWAIIAN PASSPORT
Tetraploid 23”, 5” bloom, 3 br, SE., EM, Repeats
(Ed Brown X Tet Connie Burton)
Two superb parents have had the desired effect in producing
this wonderful daylily. HAWIIAN PASSPORT is a wonderful
peachy yellow/orange, with remarkable ruffling around the petal
edges. A small green throat finishes the overall look. This is a very “bright” daylily, with a glow from within. The addition of Tet
Connie Burton has been marvelous here, and will be used heavily
again this season. Tet Connie opens doors that I never knew existed,
genetic doors that are profound. HAWIIAN PASSPORT was originally registered as”Sweet Leilani”, but our beloved Registrar told me that the name had been taken, way back in the sixties, spelled differently, so we
had to change the name. Fertile both ways, and I have ample stock.

JITTERBUG BLUES
Tetraploid 4.3/4”, SE. 23 buds, 26”
(Ed Brown X Tet Lav. Blue Baby) X (sdlg. X Tet Lav. Blue Baby)
Like countless others, I have been quietly breeding for “blues”. This is my best to date. JITTERBUG has a lovely “washed denim” blue eyezone, on a pale lilac blue
background, complete with a lettuce green throat. It was probably my most heavily used pollen in 2007. It is a rampart grower and increaser here, and repeats again in June. JITTERBUG is fertile both ways, and promises to be a great breeder. It has good branching and puts on quite a performance. A clump was magnificent here last summer. If you treasure “blues” of any fashion, you will
Love JITTERBUG BLUES. Limited quantity.

LACY LUCY

6”, SE. 20 buds, 28” RE
( Cherry Valentine X Grand Ovation) X Tet Edna Shaw
This has been the highlight of our garden for three years, with many visitors asking to be put on a reserved list. Finally we have sufficient stock to release LUCY. She has a large bloom, vanilla parchment in color, with a deep port wine edging, and a small eyezone of the same rich color. Branching is wonderful, and the foliage is a nice solid green. LUCY is a fabulous grower and increaser. She is fertile both ways and was used heavily last year in producing seeds. Lucy has good ruffling to boot, The addition of Tet Edna Shaw into my breeding has proved itself to be of inestimable value. What wonderful doors open with converted diploids.! Very limited quantity.

MARLENE HARMON
Tetraploid 32” Mid., 3br. 21 buds, 5” bloom, SE.
(Gillian X Seedling) X (Ed Brown)
X Tet Purple-eyed Magic
MARLENE is the lovely wife of Carl Harmon, in Hudson, NH.
both very dear friends and daylily growers. (Harmonhill).
We thought enough of this daylily to name it in honor of Marlene,
and to thank her for her good nature and patience with all of us
daylily crazies. MARLENE, (the daylily), is a pale blue/lavender with a slightly deeper eye and edging. The eyezone is somewhat feathered, not
at all bold, but subtle and fascinating. A good grower here, and quick to increase. Fertile both ways, her pollen was used quite a bit last bloom season in pursuit of those elusive blue daylilies. I have high hopes for
the results. This is a pretty daylily! Ample quantities

NINA LAPIERRE
Diploid 27” 8” Spidery, Mid. 3br. 20 buds, Diploid, dormant
(Erin Farmer X Scrambled Leggs)
Named for a great and talented friend living high up over the Atlantic
Coast in Ipswitch, Massachusetts, Nina is constantly joyful, happy and always pleasant. She is a joy, and I just had to name this one for her.
This little diploid just loves to bloom it’s head off, with a constant
procession of peachy-almond suffused blossoms. The seeds were purchased from another dear friend, Linda Michaels, in upstate New York.
Linda is one of those perceptive hybridizers, who “plans” her seed crosses,
Looking for distinctive traits. Now, That’s something I admire.!
I just had to try and grow those dormant seeds, here in Florida.
It worked fine.! I hope that this settles the argument for purchasing seeds
on the internet.! Thank You Linda.! It’s a beauty.! Limited supply.

VIA VENETO
Tetraploid 5.5” 27”scape, 24 buds, SE., repeats
(Frequent Comment X Tet Siloam Ralph Henry)
Another beauty from Tet Siloam Ralph Henry. This one has had a busy
Existence from Day One. I loved those ruffled edges, and have had her
loaded up with seed pods. Results are excellent.! Those lovely ruffles
are passed along to her progeny, along with great substance. I should have
released her last year, but had so many pods to gather, that I waited one
more year. You will not be disappointed with VIA VENETO. She is
fertile both ways, has wonderful scapes, and is a great increaser. I have seedlings ready to bloom from this lovely daylily, many with patterned
eyezones., and big dark eyezones as well. We think that this is a daylily
with a “future” in hybridizers efforts to produce wonderful results.

VILLA BORGHESE
Tetraploid 20” EM, 5” bloom, 3 br, 20 buds, SE.
(Ed Brown X Tet Lav. Blue Baby) X Lanny Morry X Ballerina on Ice)
A pale almond pink with a deep lilac blue eyezone, and a
very small gold picotee above a very intense green throat.
It is the green throat that really sets off the lilac blue eyezone
in this daylily. The contrast is wonderful, the colors are clean
and bright. VILLA BORGHESE is a refreshing color combination
and should brighten up your garden. We are fond of this one.!
A clump is a smash hit with visitors here. We named this one
for the many walks that my wife and I took, in a romantic spot
in downtown Rome, Italy, way back when… Ample stock available.
