SUPERCHIEF has great plant habit, good dark green foliage, is robust, and has all the attributes that I seek in an introduction. Delightful shades of lavender-blue, with a subtle, yet deeper shades of lavender in the eyezone, and a strong green throat. Perfectly round and consistant blossoms extend the breeding season here in Florida.

Pollen is very potent, pods are somewhat difficult, but not impossible. I suspect that is due to our heat so early in the morning here. I have set seeds very, very early in the AM without difficulty. Throws very hardy seedlings for me. I suspect that there is a strong possibility that SUPERCHIEF is dormant, although it has never been tested in the North.
