STRAUSS WALTZ ( MOMENTUM x J.T.DAVIS ) Tetraploid, 27”, 5.5” EM, 3Br., 20 Buds, Semievergreen A lovely red-orange eyezone on a pale orange-vanilla background
gives you quite a bright spot in the garden. To add even more interest,
that same eyezone color is repeated out on the petal edges, in a graduated
fashion. The blossom then has a gold toothy picotee edging surrounding that
deeper red-orange color. All the necessities of a Sicilian wedding!. However,
a little contrast must be added, hence a huge bright green throat to provide
some interest, and beckon you closer. STRAUSS WALTZ is surely an
interesting daylily. The green throat hold throughout the day. Scapes are
well-branched and foliage is a good dark green color, something that I admire
in a daylily. A good increaser and fertile both ways, which will provide you
with lots of unusual seedlings with colored edges and eyezones.
STRAUSS WALTZ is especially recommended for hybridizers who just
love to push the envelope in breeding intensely colored flowers. Choice!
