SANIBEL SHOALS (Swiss Mint X Monica Marie) X Swedish Girl) X (Monica Marie X Forsyth Raspberry Rimmed) Diploid 5.25” Bloom, 26” Scape, 3Br., 22 Buds, EMre. Semievergreen/Dormant. A somewhat belated entry into the “edge-no-eye” category with considerable potential. I have used Sanibel with great abandon and some considerable progress. SANIBEL SHOALS has also been converted to Tetraploid this past year, and we have seedlings now growing from it’s pollen. One particular diploid seedling, a gift of my friend, Dennis Anderson, of “Indy” fame has shown to be particularly beneficial for use in breeding. I believe that there will be some considerable breakthroughs that will result from using “Sanibel”. It has been bred to several lovely other edged seedlings here. Pod and Pollen fertile, Good increaser, but not very many for distribution. Will sell out fast. |
