IDA LOU ( Shishedo X Seminole Wind ) 5.5” Blooms, 28” Scape, 3 Br., 22 Buds, EMre, Dormant Tet. The very first bloom signified it’s importance as a future breeder. I knew immediately that IDA LOU would be registered and introduced at some future point, as soon as stock would permit. She is a very intense color in clean rose/pink, with an infusion of bright peach to make it glow in the morning light. The color is startling in it’s intensity, and very beautiful. This is a color that will not be forgotten. Deep green foliage sets this color off wonderfully. Great plant habit, pod and pollen fertility, and enough dormancy to make the Northern gardener quite happy sets this one apart. The pollen parent is responsible for all those nice attributes, I’m sure. IDA LOU repeats for me here in Florida, sending up another round of scapes shortly after the first. Rapid increase and an all around super performer. You will cherish this one. |
