 B. J. AND ED*

(Herrington,K ) 34 x 5.25 Em Re Sev 100% DOUBLE Dark, deep magenta wine with darker eye and edge is set off above an electric orange throat. I don’t think I have ever had so many compliments on a seedling from garden visitors as this one with its 30 bud count, 5 way branching and neat colors. Our former club president Ed Achord and his lovely wife, BJ were especially taken with this one so it is named to honor them. Oh yes, B. J. AND ED won the highly regarded AHS Achievement Medal in 2006; it’s truly unique & fertile. $150.00

This 9” inch unusual form is a pink with a large bright Christmas red chevron eyezone and vivid grass green throat changing to citron. The white midribs add to the overall bloom effect. CHRISTMAS IN OZ displays 5 way branching and a budcount of around 36 unusual form-cascade.  Won Best Unusual Form in its show debut in 2006. ERECT scapes and easily fertile both ways. $125.00

Fertile both ways. $100.00

REMEMBERING FLO NIX

(Herrington,K)  34 x 6.5 M Re UNF Sev A fun loving, daylily friend of mine passed away in 2005. When members of her Albany Daylily Club asked me to name a “spidery” daylily for Flo, I was honored and knew it needed to be bright, cheerful, and pretty like the lady herself. Some members of Flo’s club selected a red UNUSUAL form (cascade) with a darker red chevron eye and green throat as Flo Nix’s namesake. I knew they made a good choice, plus this one is polytepal about 20% of the time giving it the poinsettia look then. It has 16-18 buds with 4 way branching ERECT scapes and is fertile both ways; Flo Nix has left us but this happy flower will keep her spirit with us!!  $100.00

SCHOOL BUS*

(Herrington,T )   21 x 4.25 EM Sev  This flower  earned its reputation in the seedling patch  as one of the easiest flowers to see in the semi-darkness of early morning and late afternoon  just like the American icon, the yellow school bus. It is yellow-gold with black purple eye and green throat. This small flower tet is fertile both ways and will catch your eye.  $75.00

TANGERINE TWIRL CUPCAKE

(Herrington,T ) 35x 5.25 EM D Re Fr.This daylily is a tangerine carroty blend above a green throat. It represents a milestone  in hybridizing for spider/unusual form doubles in that it has the quilling effect on both the sepals and petals which is indeed very extraordinary. Quilling means that the segments turn themselves along their length to form a tubular shape. The extra segments appear as a tuft in the middle of the flower. Fertile both ways   $75.00

WALTZING WITH WALTER*

(Herrington,K) 40 x 6.25 M Re Sev  Have you ever had a dance with a tall big guy? You had to look way up to see his face and dance on your toes but it was fun! You don’t have to look up to see this daylily but at 40 inches tall and husky sturdy scapes with  very wide branching you get the picture of this rose lilac, with a lighter watermark and wire gold edge cultivar. When well established expect 5 branches per scape. WALTZING WITH WALTER is named in honor of my friend Walter Wall, a big man, a retired pilot who is serving as the Region 5 AHS photographer. Fertile both ways. $100.00
