Welcome to the web site of the Daylily Society of SouthEast Wisconsin! We are a garden club of people who love daylilies and we invite you to become a member. Our club was incorporated in 1997 and currently has over 75 active members.

The Daylily Society of SouthEast Wisconsin (DSSEW) is an affiliated member of the American Hemerocallis Society and is organized as a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to promote and encourage the cultivation, study, development and improvement of the genus Hemerocallis, and to foster its public interest. (An unstated purpose is to provide the membership with the joy of getting to know other gardeners and of growing daylilies.)

To achieve our purpose, we have four membership meetings, in January, March, May, and a November business and election meeting, with educational programs each meeting to which members and the public are invited. DSSEW also conducts a fund raising sale the first Saturday of June to support our club projects; the purchasing of daylilies to grow in area public gardens and support of the educational activities of the Boerner Botanical Gardens. To provide plants for the sale, the club maintains a daylily garden capable of holding over 750 plants.

There are other social activities such as the September Pot Luck Picnic/Plant Exchange and the Pot Luck Supper/Member-only Plant Sale the evening before the plant sale. In alternate years, a bus trip to gardens out of the area or member garden tours (open to the public) are scheduled.
