Bobbie's Garden from Patio 2004

My love for gardens sprouted my life in horticulture. I started gardening in 1988 after purchasing my home on Cape Ann, 30 miles north of Boston. Germinating from seed and collecting unusual plants led to the enjoyment of arranging small colorful vignettes. Each year the gardens grew and one more was added.

I was soon asked to design gardens for others. I love to create gardens using shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, annuals, bulbs, and fragrant herbs. Some are formal while others request cottage gardens. Creating gardens that are full of color from spring to fall is important. And plant texture is almost as important as color for an interesting garden presence.

More challenging is to create from a daylily collection making sure to include plants that bloom along with, before, and after, daylily bloom. This creates a year round garden for viewing pleasure. Garden designs both for small gardenscapes and large estates offer creative exploration.

Bobbie's Garden from Daylily Beds 2004

Daylilies are my passion. Collecting over 1000 hybrid daylilies gave me access to great gene pools to start hybridizing my own daylily cultivars. Focus is on rich colors, exotic shapes and forms, northern hardiness, good plant habits. Daylilies that will be the summer stars in perennial borders. "Country Gardens Magazine" feautured daylilies from my garden in their 2002 fall issue.

Anderson's Water Garden 2002

My Home Gardens are shared by Appointment, during an "Open Garden" on Memorial Day Weekend, and again in Mid July Weekends for daylily bloom. Plants are available at those times. Not being set up as a nursery, I can only offer my own introductions for USA shipment.

Lectures on "Garden Design," "Designing with Daylilies," and "The Complete Garden" are presented nationally. Please Call or Email for more information. I love to travel and meet with Garden Enthusiasts!
